Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: La Quinta, CA
Status: Full Time
Experience: Minimum 5 to 10 Years diversified tax experience and supervisory experience
Overview: Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and filing complex tax returns. This includes compiling supporting financial statements and documents to respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies. This role reviews returns prepared by intermediate and entry level staff for accuracy and completion. This role requires strong technical expertise in tax law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and file complex federal, state, and local tax returns on behalf of clients.
Prepare tax planning strategies and projections for clients.
Compile supporting financial statements and documents.
Review work prepared by junior staff members and provide review comments.
Assist with federal and state tax audits.
Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
Stay current on changes in tax law and regulations and communicate relevant updates to team members and clients.
Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit and advisory services, to provide integrated solutions to clients' needs.
Maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to uphold the firm's reputation for excellence and client service.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; EA or CPA license required.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and consulting, preferably in a public accounting firm environment.
Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including experience with individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and interpret complex tax issues effectively.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience supervising and mentoring staff members.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and upholding client confidentiality.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment and work independently as well as part of a team.
